Probability & Peril: How to Handle the Rare 50/50 Soil Guess Like a Champion

You have methodically flagged 43 out of 44 Angry Crops in an Overgrown Orchard. The entire board is gleaming with green sprouts and carrots. And then you see it: a 2×2 square isolated in the bottom-right corner where two symmetrical positions could each legally hold the final chili.

Step 1: Verify All Other Garden Plots First

Before you ever risk a guess on an ambiguous pair, scan the rest of the board. An isolated clue three columns away might share a perimeter tile that reduces the possibilities.

Step 2: Check the Remaining Hazard Counter

Look up at your top HUD bar! The hazard counter tracks total Angry Crops minus placed warning stakes. If only 1 hazard remains but your suspect corner would require 2 hazards to satisfy adjacent numbers, you have eliminated the ambiguity through global counting.

Step 3: Make the Guess Early, Never Late

If you identify a genuine 50/50 early in the round that has no external connections, guess it immediately! If luck is not on your side, you lose 10 seconds of time instead of spending 5 minutes clearing the entire board only to lose on the very last tap.
